OWAC SPRING CONFERENCE
May 7-8, 2012
Morro Bay, CA

The Inn at Morro Bay, in conjunction with the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Outdoor Writers Association of California’s Spring 2012 Conference in the City of Morro Bay! Plans are underway to make the 2012 Spring conference one of the most enlightening and adventurous in OWAC history – you will not want to miss this event!

Morro Bay is among the most visually spectacular communities in America. It will be our pleasure to have you participate in some of the many outdoor activities available in the area. For example, visitors to our destination have told us that one of the best ways to see the wonders of the Bay is in a kayak. Kayaking Morro Bay with an expert nature guide from our very own Central Coast Outdoors ensures you will see the wonders of this extraordinary National Estuary. You can kayak Morro Bay in all its moods, sharing the waters of the bay with harbor seals, sea lions and sea otters, as well as literally hundreds of species of birds, including several rare and endangered species.

The Dinner on the Dunes Morro Bay kayak trip is possibly one of the most unique kayak trips in California. Kayaking Morro Bay in the late afternoon, will give you the unique opportunity to visit some of the bay’s favorite hangout areas for local wildlife before heading to the outer sand-spit. Beaching on the far side of Morro Bay, you will have a chance to frolic in the pristine sand dunes while your guide prepares a delicious California beach style grilled dinner. As the sun slowly slips behind the dunes of Morro Bay, you will climb back in your kayak for a magical paddle in the deepening dusk back to the docks - an experience you will not soon forget!

Other recreation highlights we tentatively plan to offer: deep sea sportfishing, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, whale watching, and interpretive guided tours of this historic Central Coast area. Our host hotel will be Inn at Morro Bay. Nestled on 4,000 acres just inside the Morro Bay State Park, the Inn offers visitors a true coastal hideaway of unsurpassed natural beauty. After a day filled with adventure, you will return to our beautiful Inn to relax and, while sipping a glass of your favorite beverage, you can dazzle one another with tales of your discoveries! Need more enticement?

Stay tuned for further updates and registration form … We look forward to introducing you to the many charms of the Inn at Morro Bay and the beautiful Central Coast in May 2012. We hope to see you here! For more information on our beautiful property and activities in the area, please visit us at: www.innatmorrobay.com ; www.morrobay.org.
