The
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is generously
hosting a very special fishing/recreational outing for OWAC members
on Diamond Valley Lake the early morning of Sunday October 8.
Free overnight accommodations on October 7, and local van transportation
on October 8, will be provided for up to 20 distance-traveling OWAC
actives. Others wishing to “free fish” may be accommodated on a
first-come, first served basis.
Pre-conference
events will be held approximately one hour from host site Idyllwild.
Nearby desert group hotel rates are in process while special check-in
arrangements are being made for those participating in Sunday morning
pre-conference activities.
Those who ascend to mile-high Idyllwild for the October 8 - 10,
2006 OWAC conference are being promised, by event host Idyllwild
Bureau of Tourism, giant helpings of peer camaraderie during outings
and craft development sessions.
The fall conference is nearly atop Mt. San Jacinto in the forest
village of Idyllwild, which is two hours, or less, from the hustle
and bustle of most major Southern California cities. The theme throughout
the conference, while being staged in and around Idyllwild’s semi-remote,
pristine environment, will be “preserving our heritage”.
Bring your cameras and be prepared to experience heightened serenity
during a program of activities which will include photographic expeditions,
hiking, fishing, climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, birding,
and several “team oriented” surprises.
