Hank Shaw: Fishing and Feasting in La Paz

From Hank's wonderful James Beard-nominated blog Hunter Angler Gardner Cook:

"Most people don’t eat bonito. The meat is burgundy, and if you fail to remove the dark “bloodline” along the center of the fillet, it can taste pretty fishy. But if you do remove the bloodline, you essentially have a teeny bluefin tuna. The joke’s on those who fail to even try this wonderful fish. Harry and Bruce thought I was crazy to keep it. “It’s cat food!” I just sighed and tossed Mr. Bonito into the ice chest."
