Big Bear Lake Resort Association (BBLRA) now offers travel
insurance, giving Big Bear vacationers an opportunity to travel
to Big Bear worry free! The travel insurance provides protection
for guests who need to cancel or interrupt their trip due to
unforeseen circumstances.
The plan covers cancellations and interruptions due to an accident,
injury, illness or death before or during the trip. The insurance
covers out-of-pocket costs for prepaid non-refundable vacation
costs, deposits and cancellation fees. Also, the insurance provides
coverage for lost, stolen or damaged sporting equipment, non-refundable
lift tickets, lessons and rentals. Other benefits include roadside
assistance, vehicle return, emergency medical transportation
and 24-hour travel assistance.
“We implemented the insurance program to give guests
a sense of security,” said Ken Brengle, CEO for Big Bear
Lake Resort Association. “It’s important for guests
to know their vacation investment is thoroughly covered.”
Travel insurance is available to all guests who book lodging
through BBLRA’s central reservations system online at
www.bigbear.com
or by phone at 1.800.4.BIG.BEAR (1.800.424.4232). The insurance
is 6.5 percent of the total amount of the reservation, and is
automatically included. The guest may accept or decline the
insurance at the time of the booking.
