History will come alive for all to see, as the wagon trains hit the scenic trail for eleven days, August 22-31, 2007. The wagon train will roll across 76 miles over eleven days beginning in Pickle Meadows, located on the east side of the Sonora Pass just west of Highway 395 and ending in Twain Harte, CA.
“The Wagon Train has been able to provide an amazing history event for the community and area visitors,” said Willy Evans, creator of the initial Wagon Train event in 1996. “Since its inception, hundreds of families have had the opportunity to experience first hand the pioneers’ way of life,” she added.
The adventure-seeking participants get to live the life of real pioneers — from meals cooked over open fires, to wearing 1850s clothing, to gathering around the nightly campfires for story telling and music.
